Kuyt couldn't have ended his career on the back of a better moment as he netted a hat-trick to down Heracles 3-1 to seal Feyenoord's first Eredivisie title in 18-years.
"To me this feels like the right time to retire".
The club said Kuyt would remain with Feyenoord in another role.

Having begun his professional career at Utrecht, Kuyt joined Feyenoord in 2003 and won the KNVB Cup during a three-year spell. He went to play at Liverpool for six seasons before spending a further three at Fenerbahçe. The Netherlands' win over Brazil in the 2014 World Cup bronze medal match was the last time Kuyt featured in an global match.
A native of Katwijk aan Zee, Netherlands, Kuyt will walk away from the game with 104 appearances for his national team, including a 2010 runner-up finish to Spain at the FIFA World Cup.
