The only way to be eligible for the race is by being a victor between the 2016 and 2017 seasons or a past All-Star Race victor.
There are no mandatory pit stops and drivers will line up before the pits are open after the third stage by order of average finish. The Open will feature three segments for a total of 50 laps, and the victor of each segment will earn a spot in the field.
They can't mix-and-match sets. The softer tire should be faster than the other option, but no one is certain how long the speed will last. Winning any of the first three stages also qualifies a driver into the final stage, a 10-lap dash for the cash. Now, you find yourself in the same place as your parents: Who do you cheer for once your favorite driver retires?
