Australia start their Champions Trophy 2017 campaign against New Zealand on Friday

The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy got off to a spectacular start on Thursday with hosts England taking on Bangladesh in the tourney opener at the Oval in London. England's chase of 306 is the first successful 300-plus chase in the tournament's history.

Tamim scored 128 off 142 balls including 12 fours and 3 sixes.

"Jason Roy is part of our strong opening partnership with Alex Hales".

Bangladesh knocked England out of the 2015 World Cup with a 15-run win at Adelaide and both sides featured several survivors from that match. Roots unbeaten effort was also his highest ODI score. He becomes only the second Bangladeshi to hit a hundred in the tournament.

Root was going at solid at the other end, busy collecting the ones and twos with incoming batsman Eoin Morgan expectedly going for his shots.

Not known as a big-hitter, Root later lofted Rubel Hossain for a straight six and ended the match with a four off Mossadek Hossain.

New Mexico Dem official posts support for bloody Trump video
I just read an article on the CNN website penned by SE Cupp titled: Kathy Griffin's unforgivable message to America and the world. Tuesday, Tapper condemned Griffin's photo-which featured the comedian holding a severed Trump head covered in blood.

Bangladesh threatened the same punishment in its first one-day worldwide on English soil in seven years by producing its highest score against England, and the eighth-best total in trophy history, 40 runs more than its previous best.

Earlier England won the toss and opted to bowl first. They looked far from threatening and managements decision to go in with four specialist bowlers on a flat wicket did not help their cause. He along with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (79) added 166 runs in 25.1 overs to hand a crucial advantage to the visitors.

The total of 305 for six is Bangladesh's highest in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Plunkett had the best bowling figure for England with 4/59 in 10 overs.

England's team leaders don't feel this is the time to start tinkering with the batting lineup, and would hope Roy - with his strike rate of 101.68, a top score of 162 and his thrilling see-it-and-hit-it approach - can get out of his rut and somehow rediscover some form. Meanwhile, seamer Jake Ball and Ben Stokes scalped a wicket each. Ball struggled, conceding 82 from his 10 overs, though he was unlucky when Moeen Ali dropped Soumya Sarkar on 11.

Morgan picked up where Hales left off, reaching 50 from 45 deliveries, though Bangladesh were furious he was not given out when Tamim flung himself forward at long-on to take what he believed was a fair catch.
