KSP Sergeant Michael Williams and Trooper Gerick Sullivan were mowing a cemetery in Salem, Kentucky when they heard the barks of a dog coming from a wooded area.

Little Rocco got into the tree through a nearby groundhog hole, but couldn't make his way out. Upon inspection, the troopers found a dachshund stuck inside the trunk of a tree. That's where he became stuck. The troopers were unable to reach the dog, so they called for reinforcements.

Rocco was happily reunited with his owner.

Firefighters took the added precaution of making the hole bigger "should Rocco or another dog find themselves inside the tree again".
