Saudi Arabia gained, boosted by banks, on expectations for a rate hike in the United States. "The US ambassador to Qatar recently resigned as she did not agree with this policy", she told RIA Novosti, pointing out that previously the US sought to maintain cordial relations with the Arab states of the Persian Gulf without openly taking sides.

"The nation of Qatar has unfortunately been a funder of terrorism, and at a very high level", he said.

The Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, in turn refused on June 12 to succumb to pressure by Saudi Arabia, rejecting a Dollars 80 million offer to sever diplomatic ties with its blockaded ally. "And so there'll be an escalation of economic pressure, again, short of a policy shift or negotiations that lead to a policy shift".
