Instagram introduces 'archive' feature to allow users to hide photos

Instagram archive feature

Instagram Will Now Let You Take Down Your Posts Without Deleting Them

Or, maybe you just want to take a total break from social media and archive all your photos for a bit. It will drop down from the archive button and explain that any post you archive can be found by clicking the archive button. "All you have to do is tap "." on any post on your profile, then tap "Archive" and voila! - the post is now hidden away in your archive.

The best part? If you archive a post that already has likes and comments, they won't go away.

Now, with Archive, you should have more flexibility and control over your profile.

Testing was started last month on some users but the feature was publicly launched on Tuesday for both iOS and Android versions of the app.

So how does this nifty new archive feature work? You can see them in a newly created archive folder in your profile.

Ultimately, however, the NCAA deems Pitino responsible for monitoring everything that is going on in his program. The program also was placed on four years' probation , with reduced scholarships.

But before you recoil in horror, it's only photos sent in direct messages. This feature allows you to be able to hide/unhide pictures from your followers on your Instagram profile. From within, you can also chose to unarchive a photo and "show on profile".

To archive a post, users simply have to tap the three dots button the top right-hand corner of the screen, and options will come up including "archive". You'll see an option that states "show on profile", which will then bring the photo back to your profile, and everyone will be able to see it.

While the update may be described as a minor one, it is one that gives you the chance to get rid of those embarrassing posts you no longer want the world to see on the internet.

After years of writing "LET US HIDE PHOTOS FROM MY PROFILE" in Instagram's review section, the mysterious people behind the app have *finally* heard our pleas.
