Blackhawks reacquire Saad from Blue Jackets for Panarin

Hjalmarsson finished with five goals and 13 assists in 73 games last season, while Panarin had 31 goals and 43 assists while playing in all 82 games.

Brandon Saad is no stranger to the Chicago Blackhawks lineup.

Hjalmarsson gives Arizona more stability on the back end after it traded away No. 1 goalie Mike Smith last weekend. "I mean obviously we didn't know until we began negotiating where they were going to be", Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman said.

The Chicago Blackhawks have reacquired Brandon Saad along with Anton Forsberg and a 2018 fifth-round pick in exchange for Artemi Panarin, Tyler Motte, and a 2017 sixth-round pick.

ET reached 4 million total viewers and scored 2.3 million streaming minutes, ranking as Telemundo most streamed match ever. After Salcedo was carried off on a stretcher, Wood went on to put New Zealand into a surprise lead in the 42nd minute.

Saad was sent along with forward Alex Broadhurst and defenseman Michael Paliotta to the Blue Jackets for Anisimov, Marko Dano, Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp and a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The Blackhawks received defensemen Connor Murphy and Laurent Dauphin in Friday's trade.

"I certainly like the fact that we're getting younger", Bowman said. The Russian native has 61 goals and 90 assists in 162 games in the National Hockey League since coming over from the KHL. Saad is also signed to a deal that will pay him $6 million per season, though his deal lasts for four years rather than Panarin's two - a factor that might have been taken into consideration when making the swap for the Blackhawks. His return should help make up for the loss of Marian Hossa, who announced this week that he won't play next season because of severe side effects from medication to treat a progressive skin disorder.

The 30-year-old Hjalmarsson had spent his entire 10-year career with Chicago, helping the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cup titles. It also decided against re-signing captain Shane Doan after 21 years with the franchise, and then announced Thursday that Dave Tippett was out after eight seasons in a mutual agreement between the coach and the franchise. Saad scored 24 goals and 26 assists for the Blue Jackets last season. Murphy, 24, had two goals and a career-high 15 assists in 77 games with Arizona last season.
