Six dead in Bowling Green Interstate 65 crash

Police responded to the call of an injury accident northbound near the 30 mile marker at approximately 10:38 p.m., and it was determined that the collision involved two passenger vehicles and two commercial vehicles.

Six people are dead after a multiple vehicle crash on I-65 in Kentucky Thursday night.

Both semi drivers were uninjured.

The operator of the second involved passenger vehicle's name is now being withheld, pending death notification to family members. That caused a chain reaction collision involving one additional passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle, according to KSP. None of the names of the involved parties have been released pending notification of family members. Two of the deceased individuals have not yet been identified.

All lanes of I-65 northbound are closed at Exit 28, and all traffic is being detoured onto US 31-W North, Hodges said.

Kentucky State Police and the Warren County Coroner's Office were working diligently to make notifications and positive identities, the press release stated. All northbound interstate traffic is being diverted onto United States 31W, near mile marker 28.

KSP released the identities of five of the people killed in the crash: 77-year-old Robert Hogan of Beech Grove, Ind.; 48-year-old Jonell Boster of Beech Grove; 59-year-old Lonnie Boster of Beech Grove; 17-year-old Carl Boster of Beech Grove; and 30-year-old Lonnie D. Boster of Indianapolis.
