The UGC-NET exam is conducted for testing the eligibility of candidates for the positions of assistant professor or for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
As per schedule released, the online registration for the UGC NET will begin from August 1. The examination will be conducted in the month of November 2017.
Candidates who clear UGC NET will be eligible for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship at various government approved higher educational institutions in the country.
If you are one amongst the prospective lecturers or assistant professors, you can apply for the CBSE NET 2017 exam starting from 1 August. Candidates are strictly advised to apply online to appear for the UGC NET 2017 examination scheduled to be held on November 5, 2017 i.e. on Sunday as per the recent amendment notice released by the Commission in preponing the UGC NET 2017 examination this year.

Candidates can check cbsenet.nic.in to access the detailed notification. Aspiring candidates can check details of the exam from the official website of the CBSE NET. "The candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in from 24th July, 2017", said a short notification published on the CBSE NET official website.
The exam is conducted in streams such as Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce etc. The admit cards for UGC NET exam will be available on the official website 15 days prior to the examination dates. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognised universities and colleges.
CBSE UGC NET examination will take place on 19th November 2017.
