Trump Threatens North Korea, Says US Forces 'Locked and Loaded'

President Donald Trump says German Chancellor Angela Merkel does not speak for the USA on North Korea.

"China should also make clear that if North Korea launches missiles that threaten US soil first and the USA retaliates, China will stay neutral", it added. Gordon Humphrey (N.H.) sent a letter to several lawmakers urging President Trump's prompt removal from office.

Following days of grave threats to North Korea, Trump directed his latest warning Friday directly to the communist country's leader, Kim Jong Un. Every smart person on TV who talks about what Trump should do, when it was their turn to deal with North Korea, they failed miserably.

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain said in an interview with Phoenix radio station KTAR that he takes "exception to the President's comments because you've got to be sure that you can do what you say you're going to do".

Trump tweeted: "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely".

Meanwhile, American and South Korean officials said they would move forward with large-scale military exercises later this month that North Korea claims are a rehearsal for war.

That letter also asked about steps to address humanitarian issues such as the reunification of Korean families separated by the armistice that concluded the Korean War, and the return of remains of US service members left in North Korea after the war.

Cicilline said Trump "has made a unsafe situation even worse by recklessly asserting that the United States is "locked and loaded" to bring "fire and fury" to North Korea".

Kuster's spokesperson also said that she is concerned about the potential precedent.

"Donald Trump should be relieved of the powers of the presidency at the earliest date".

The letter comes amid news that North Korea declared a plan to launch a ballistic missiles toward the USA territory of Guam - 4,000 miles west of Hawaii in the Pacific - where the US has a significant military presence.

Trump has warned North Korea it faced "fire and fury" over its threats, CNN noted.
