On a day when at least four matches generated storylines that would dominate the headlines on a typical Premier League weekend, reigning champions Chelsea's loss at the hands of lowly Burnley was the most notable.

He was happy with the fight his Chelsea side showed in the second half but believes after losing Cahill in the first period, his team lost their heads for a while that led to the three goals from Burnley.

As for the home side, Antonio Conte had handed Premier League debuts to Antonio Rudiger as well as highly-rated winger Jeremie Boga, but has left big money summer signing Alvaro Morata on the bench - alongside several of the club's most promising talents.

Captain Cahill was sent off just 14 minutes into the game as Burnley went on rampage, scoring three goals in the first half.

Sam Vokes put Burnley up 1- after 24 minutes.

"I am not anxious", Conte said.

Newly-acquired Alvaro Morata proved his value with a textbook run in the box and diving header on a picture ideal Willian cross to pull a goal back.

Had Morata not touched a goal-bound Christensen shot over the line five minutes later, it would have been 3-2 sooner.

Chelsea must now take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday without Cahill and Fabregas as well as Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko, who remain several weeks away from full fitness.

"The sending off of Cahill was a key moment, because to play the rest of the game with 10 and then nine men is not easy", said Conte.
