Earlier, on Saturday, militants opened fire on an Indian Army camp in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir that injured a jawan.

Meanwhile, different reports suggest presence of 10 to 13 militants even though the number could not be officially confirmed.

August 13: In the massive encounter underway in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir since last night, a terrorist has been neutralised on Sunday as security forces have been giving a strong response.

"Injured police personnel have been referred to hospital", the spokesman said.

A police official said a body was lying at the encounter site.

Two policemen suatained bullet wounds soon after forces launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Sunday morning.

Seven civilians had sustained pellet injuries during clashes.
