The development comes after Kumar on Friday virtually shut the door on any reconciliation with rebel leader Sharad Yadav, saying he is free to take any decision as the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party had the entire partys nod.

Bengaluru: BJP chief Amit Shah on Saturday announced that he has extended an invitation to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to join the NDA.

JD (U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said the party will approve the proposal in the meeting in Patna.

Acknowledging Mr Yadav's seniority in the party, the JD (U) leader said, "Sharadji is one of the founding members of the party, but it pains us that the path chosen by him leads to our rival, the Rashtriya Janata Dal".

The Janata Dal (United) has replaced senior party leader Sharad Yadav with RCP Singh as its leader in the Rajya Sabha.

Police investigating deadly Charlottesville auto crash as homicide
Corinne Geller, a Virignia State Police spokeswoman, said the pilot and a passenger were killed in the crash Saturday afternoon. Authorities arrested a 20 year old man for allegedly plowing his auto into a crowd of protestors in Charlottesville, VA.

A day earlier, Nitish had suspended party deputy leader Ali Anwar Ansari in the Rajya Sabha for attending a meeting of Opposition parties, convened by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

"NDA will also be stronger with Kumar's party joining it", a BJP leader said. "The BJP chief has been told that the party will share the names of the MPs who could join the council of ministers headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi", sources said.

"There are two JD-Us in Bihar, one is official and another is of the people". As far as party is concerned, it has already taken its decision.

JDU's leader in the Rajya Sabha Sharad Yadav has rebelled against the alliance with the BJP but apparently does not enjoy much support among other party's lawmakers. Keeping a track of all the actions of Sharad Nitish and JD (U) are clear that Sharad is going against the party and will soon move to a split in the party. "All of them are with Nitish Kumar", he said.

On Saturday, Sharad Yadav shot back at Nitish Kumar. A former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the UP cadre, he has been Principal Secretary in the Nitish Kumar government. He says he is taking people's opinion.
