EasyJet customers will now be able to book connecting flights with other airlines including Norwegian via its website

Many of its customers already connect with EasyJet flights under their own steam, the airline said, but now it should be easier to buy a through ticket from the beginning of the journey to the final destination.

GatwickConnects bag drop desks are located in the airport's baggage reclaim halls so that passengers' luggage can be put directly on the onward flight and customers can go straight through security without checking their bag in again. Bookable immediately through EasyJet's website, these flights will connect through London's Gatwick Airport. The huge list of destinations includes New York, Vancouver, Singapore and Buenos Aires.

Belfast to Buenos Aires or Aberdeen to Alberta: Britain's biggest budget airline, easyJet, has teamed up with two other low-priced airlines to offer "through fares" via its busiest hub, Gatwick. "Worldwide by Easyjet' makes the low-fare airline the first of its kind to offer global connections with other companies".

Guy Stephenson, Chief Commercial Officer, Gatwick Airport, said:"easyJet is Gatwick's biggest airline and this world-first partnership with GatwickConnects, means that easyJet passengers can easily and quickly self-connect with other flights in Gatwick's diverse network of flights including over 60 long haul routes".

Norwegian's long-haul network now includes more than 55 routes from Europe to long-haul locations, while EasyJet flies on more of Europe's 100 largest routes than any other airline.

Seats through "Worldwide by Easyjet" are available from today.

It already has plans to expand the service to other key EasyJet airports in Europe, including Milan Malpensa, Geneva, Amsterdam, Paris Charles De Gaulle and Barcelona.

EasyJet says it will not hold flights for connecting passengers.

"We are confident it will be popular with customers and look forward to announcing more partners in the near future". Passengers must have a minimum two-and-a-half-hour connection time to use the service.

"GatwickConnects lets passengers seamlessly self-connect between different airlines at Gatwick at the touch of the button".
