IPhone 8 Plus has the best camera DxOMark has ever tested

Apple's iPhone 8 Plus has the world's 'best smartphone camera', according to DxOMark

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Achieve Top Spots in DxOMark – Scoring 90+ Points

In the breakdown, DxOMark said that the iPhone 8 Plus now has the best performing camera they have ever tested for photography. It basically wipes the floor with every other rival flagship, including the well-received Google Pixel and HTC U11. Its overall DxOMark Mobile score of 94 sets a new record, beating out the 90 points for both the Google Pixel and the HTC U11, as well as the 92 that its sibling iPhone 8 just scored.

That's not surprising of course, seeing as how its rear camera is identical to the main camera of the iPhone 8 Plus.

The iPhone 8 has "better exposure, improved dynamic range, and lower Noise than the previous generation iPhone 7", DxOMark said in a media release. With their updated methodology and current rankings, there is validity in their test results and I recommend checking out all of the details in their full test reports. Though there can be some underexposure in very low light, iPhone 8's ability to properly recognise faces along with flash makes it a good option to click photos indoors as well, notes the post.

The dual cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus also have a new "Portrait Lighting" feature to adjust the lighting for portrait shots.

Pairing your Apple Watch with a new iPhone
With the iPhone's new operating system iOS 11 - which was released to the general public yesterday - turning them off is hard . Those interested in switching off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth completely will have to head over to " Settings " menu.

Here's one example shot taken on an iPhone 8 Plus.

"Overall, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus is an excellent choice for the needs of almost every smartphone photographer", DxOMark concludes.

Apple iPhone iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features upgraded 12MP cameras.

The iPhone 8 Plus' dual camera setup features a 12-megapixel (wide-angle) camera with a f/1.8 aperture, as well as a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with a f/2.8 aperture. It is interesting to see a slightly higher video score in the iPhone 8 compared to the 8 Plus since video performance should be the same with both phones using the same camera for video. It features outstanding image quality, zoom for those needing to get closer to their subjects, and an industry-leading Portrait mode for artistic efforts.
