Most shoppers at an Apple Store in downtown Hong Kong told CNNMoney they were planning to wait for the iPhone X. Those who were there to buy the 8 gave a range of reasons, including its cheaper price tag and the fact that it still has a Home button.
In the past, hundreds of people would usually gather at the Apple Sydney city store waiting for the new iPhone. However, iPhone buyers, press, and few other people were the only ones allowed in.
Apple's flagship store in London's Regent Street also experienced a slim turnout, according to several British newspapers. The stock has lost 6.3 percent since closing at $161.50 on September 11, a day before its new products were announced.
Right now, the iPhone 8 pair is available for sale in a large number of markets, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the United Kingdom, the US and US Virgin Islands.
Many customers in the store were trying to the test the new models instead of committing to buy.
Upon arrival, at about 7.30am, no more than 10 people were queuing. "There aren't too many new features to this one".
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus already received mixed reviews.

But some general retailers said they were sure the new iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus - which start at 5,888 yuan (US$892) in the mainland - will quickly become available at lower prices than their official launch prices when they finally start to hit other shelves across the country.
