On Tuesday night, Paddock's girlfriend, 62-year-old Marilou Danley, returned to the US from the Philippines, where her sisters say Paddock had surprised her with a ticket and encouraged her to get out of town.
American authorities said she was out of the country at the time retired accountant Paddock, 64, unleashed his reign of terror on concert-goers from a hotel window.
The BI spokesperson confirmed that Danley had been processed by immigration at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators questioned her about Paddock's weapons purchases, a $100,000 wire transfer to a Philippine bank that they think may have been intended for her, and about whether she saw any changes in his behavior before she left the United States. Though the 62-year-old was met by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents upon landing at LAX, she was not placed under arrest, The New York Times reports.
Russia Says Kills 7 Nusra Front Ringleaders in Syria Airstrike
The strikes also killed "49 fighters, including seven leaders of the Al Nusra Front's eastern sector", Mr Konashenkov said. The speaker doesn't say when the two men were captured.
He said he didn't know what Stephen Paddock was planning with the explosives, if anything.
"What happened in Las Vegas is in many ways a miracle", he said.
Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo says that Paddock used video cameras to watch for police to storm his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino as he continued his killing spree. Police are not aware whether the devices were transmitting - the FBI is investigating their use.
"I anticipate he was looking for anybody coming to take him into custody", Lombardo said. The sheriff said the gunfire rained down for about nine minutes. Eric Paddock believes his brother likely sent it to Danley, to take care of her in the aftermath. Investigators found a computer and 23 guns in Paddock's hotel room.
As authorities pick apart the life of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, they have come across one major thread of suspicious behavior: how he handled his money.
The suspect had also booked into an apartment at the high-rise Ogden in downtown Las Vegas a week earlier during a different open-air festival where acts including Muse, Lorde, Chance the Rapper and Blink-182 were due to play.
