The Mets' move to purchase the Chiefs will end more than six decades of community ownership of the team, now majority-owned by the Community Baseball Club of Central New York. Instead of a cross-country flight, players will just have to suffer through living in upstate NY for most of the year. This sale ends almost six decades of ownership by the community, although the team will still play in NBT Bank Stadium.
The transaction must be approved by the Community Baseball Club of Central New York and Onondaga County, which holds the lease to the stadium.
"Active stockholders will shortly receive a voting proxy in the mail with details on the proposed transaction and instructions on how to vote by November 17, 2017", according to Gov. Cuomo's office. An industry source confirmed Monday the Mets' plans to buy the minor-league team in Syracuse and move their Triple-A affiliate there from Las Vegas.
Iran's Velayati: US angry at IRGC over effectual war against ISIS
Chief of the Revolutionary Guards Mohammad Ali Jafari has also vowed to equate USA forces with the terrorist group Daesh (ISIS). His comments come just 24 hours after Iran threatened the USA with a " firm, decisive and crushing " response to sanctions.

The only problem is that the Mets have more than just those NY teams - including some in Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee - and the SC-based Columbia Fireflies had some words about that. The Chiefs have struggled financially for years and lag behind other Triple-A clubs in attendance. In 2019, the Mets would have their Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse, Double-A affiliate in Binghamton, and Single-A in Brooklyn.
There's another reason Cuomo is excited about the sale.
This move should also provide a tangible benefit for NY.
