Facebook and Instagram Are Down


Down detector MAPPED The outage is affecting Facebook users across the globe

At its peak, more than 12,000 users sent reports to site downtime detection site Down Detector, indicating Facebook was down.

Facebook and Instagram have become irreplaceable platforms in society, respectively hosting over two billion and over 700 million people per month.

Just after 11:00am EST, parts of the USA, mostly the East and West Coasts, and Europe starting suffering Facebook outages.

Some users can access their News Feed, but are having issues posting updates and sharing on the network.

The outages impacted users not only in the USA but Greece, the UK, Poland and other European countries.

The outage has left users unable to share links or post articles.

Users quickly turned to Twitter to vent their frustration at the Facebook problems. Though there's no official comment on Facebook's official Twitter account, a company spokesperson told CNET website, "We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram".
