Honeypreet being taken to court

On August 26, Kumar, the then deputy commissioner of police in Panchkula, was suspended by the Haryana government, a day after at least 35 people died in the district in violence triggered by the self-styled godmans conviction.

Honeypreet's police remand was extended by three days till October 13 by a court on Tuesday.

A convoy of about half-a-dozen cars with officers of Panchkula police have brought her to Ram Rahim's palatial farmhouse in the village where he was born. She was meannwhile today taken to Jangirana vilalge near Baluana in Bathinda district by the SIT of Haryana Police.

Gurmeet was convicted in two rape cases on August 25 by a special CBI court at Panchkula and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.

Honeypreet Insan has admitted her role in the violence that broke out after the conviction of now-disgraced Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh, Zee News quoted police sources as saying.

Vigilance probe ordered against Oommen Chandy
In the 4 years since the commission was set up, it has questioned 214 witnesses and examined 812 documents, the CM said. Following this, the government accepted the report and chose to take action on the basis of the legal advice received.

This seems to be a contrast statement; when Honeypreet was arrested on 3rd October on the charges of rioting and sedition, she had completely denied of doing so.

Minutes after Singh was convicted on August 25, his hysterical supporters ran riot across Haryana and Punjab, clashing with security forces, and burning down buildings, vehicles and railway stations. Outnumbered in many places, policemen were seen fleeing from mobs that were armed with sticks and stones. But finally, she confessed that she was the reason behind Panchkula violence. Honeypreet was arrested from a highway in Punjab last week after absconding for more than a month.

The Dera rank and file were given the responsibility to organise and fund the violence. Honeypreet also said that not only women but also men kept fasting for Papa (Ram Rahim) on this occasion.

As per the report, the police also claimed in court that Honeypreet and Sukhdeep may have to be taken to Rampur Bushar in Himachal Pradesh, apart from Gurgaon and Sirsa.

But the worry is that Honeypreet's laptop and mobile phone, which apparently contains a trove of information about the sect, haven't been recovered. And to our utter amazement, media not only tracked the lady all of a sudden but also had an exclusive interview with her and the video even went viral on social media.
