Ms Cameron's devastated family conceded they were of the "firm belief" Anne had "passed away in tragic circumstances" as they waited for DNA testing to come back.
Police in northern Australia fear that a 79-year-old woman may have been attacked by crocodiles after what are believed to be human remains were found near a creek infested with the risky reptiles.
"We continue to search the area in the hope of finding her alive (but) because of the proximity of these items near the creek bank, we can not rule out the possibility of a crocodile attack".
Police have found clothes and other items of interest belonging to Anne Cameron at the end of Four Mile Beach.
He said Department of Environment and Heritage Protection officers would patrol the area tonight "in the event that there has been a croc involved in this missing person".
Ozcare, the company that runs the aged care facility, declined to comment.

Although a crocodile had been captured in the area recently, it was released after examination and EHP Director of Wildlife Operations Michael Joyce said two boats had been conducting surveys in the area and another two were due to join the search today.
"We continue to search the area in the hopes that we find her alive".
Acting Inspector Lukin said this was not the first time Ms Cameron had become disorientated while out walking and SES volunteers would continue searching the area to keep "every available option" open.
The Mowbray River is the location of three sizeable crocodiles regularly seen by motorists travelling between Cairns and Port Douglas.
One fellow resident of Cameron's care facility told ABC she had seen the missing woman walking towards an administration building around 4pm on Tuesday (10 October).
Police are expected to give an update at 3.30pm.
