Rose McGowan's Temporary Twitter Lock-Out Inspires #WomenBoycottTwitter Movement

Ben Affleck Harevy Weinstein Rose McGowan

It comes after she tweeted this on Tuesday

Actress Rose McGowan's Twitter account has been suspended. "I said I was the proof", she claimed, later confirming to The Hollywood Reporter that the initials in her tweet belonged to Weinstein.

Actress Rose McGowan has accused Ben Affleck of lying over his prior knowledge of producer Harvey Weinstein's predatory sexual behaviour - and had her Twitter account frozen as a result.

She made the accusation via Twitter, adding her name to a growing list of women who have accused Weinstein of wrongdoing in news stories published over the past week. It is still unclear where the complaint came from; any user of the Twitter platform can flag content as inappropriate at which point it is referred internally for review.

Twitter served only to fan the flames when it refused to explain why it had locked McGowan account, saying that it "doesn't comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons". Costolo scrambled, ordering teams to delete offending accounts and tweets.

"Twitter has suspended me", McGowan wrote in all caps. She also alleges, in a series of tweets in which she tagged Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos, that she told the head of Amazon studios about the alleged rape and called on Amazon to stop funding the work of "rapists, alleged pedos and sexual harassers". A Twitter representative told People magazine McGowan's account was suspended because one of her posts included a private phone number. We will be clearer about these policies and decisions in the future.

Samsung Electronics on track for record third-quarter as chips soar
He cemented Samsung Electronics' position in memory chips and expanded the contract chip manufacturing business. Revenue likely rose 29.7 percent from a year earlier to 62 trillion won, Samsung said in a regulatory filing.

We have been unable to determine whether McGowan did tweet a phone number. "Suspend me too, please".

A McGowan project with Amazon was never officially announced, but McGowan publicly discussed working with the company at an event in September 2016.

And actress Jessica Chastain posted a copy of Twitter's terms of service, and asked: "Let us know which of these rules [Rose McGowan] broke".

McGowan has been calling out celebrities and industry insiders including Affleck in Twitter messages accusing them of covering for Weinstein for years.

The 44-year-old star is one of the many famous women at the centre of the scandal rocking Hollywood, after being named as one of the producer's alleged victims in the New York Times expose last week.
