Tom Brady Misses Practice Due To Shoulder Injury

New England Patriots and New York Jets played in 2016

Brady's been a hit a ton this season. According to the injury report, Brady did not practice again Wednesday, though he was spotted during the media portion of the practice.

"I'll be there Sunday", he said of Sunday's game in New Jersey against the New York Jets (1 p.m.; CBS).

Brady credited the score and game situations for the frequency New England has been in passing situations this year.

Brady reportedly suffered the sprain when sacked by Carolina's Julius Peppers two games ago, and the injury was aggravated during last Thursday's game at Tampa Bay.

Should Brady not play on Sunday, New England has backup Jimmy Garoppolo at the ready. He said he has learned to deal with the wear-and-tear over time.

Brady has been sacked 16 times this season in five games, already one more than he was sacked all past year.

For the Jets, running back Bilal Powell (calf) and defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (shoulder, toe) sat out practice.

"Just football", he said.

Through five games, the Jets are allowing 143 rushing yards per game (30th in the league) and 4.6 yards per attempt (25th in the league). "But it's something that we're going to have to keep challenging ourselves. We all want to do a better job, we all want to play better". It is worth pointing out, however, that Brady trails - and will continue to face stiff competition from v New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees for all three records.

When Jets fans aren't sitting home watching their division rival play for a championship in the winter, they are watching them blow late leads to the crosstown Giants in the Super Bowl. Their 3.9 yards per attempt rank 22nd in the league. "If you let them run and pass, it will be a long day for the defense".
