Report: Penn State Preparing for Texas A&M to Pursue James Franklin

Penn State head coach James Franklin is now on a recruiting trip in Texas.

CBS Sports ranked San Diego State as most likely to finish undefeated.

Responding to reports that Texas A&M could be interested in Penn State HC James Franklin, Penn State and Franklin announced that they remain committed to each other.

That's not necessarily a knock on Penn State.

The leader of the program has stated on multiple occasions - from his introductory press conference on - that Penn State is his dream job and he wants to build something long-term.

It sounds like Franklin is happy with the Nittany Lions, and why wouldn't he be? With Saquon Barkley leading a vaunted offense, the Nittany Lions have scored at least 31 points in five of their six games.

Franklin, who agreed to a lucrative contract extension in August, has already coached in the SEC at Vanderbilt.

Franklin outlined in the tweet that he is from Pennsylvania, has the No. 3-ranked team in the country and has the No. 3-ranked recruiting class for 2018.

Texas A&M has a big checkbook, but Franklin isn't exactly dealing with a mid-major at Penn State, either.

The festivities kick off with a 3 p.m. visit by the Nittany Lion, who'll get the crowed pumped up and pose for photos.

He does lack some of the luster he once had.

Sumlin, whose 4-2 Aggies have finished with a record of 8-5 in each of the last three seasons was placed firmly on the hotseat this summer when Texas A&M athletic director Scott Woodward called out his football coach on "The Paul Finebaum Show".
