"I miss wearing make-up". "... I think that this show, and what late night has become, is a result of him playing with the genre, and experimenting and exploring". Poking fun at O'Brien's demeanor during the show, Letterman joked, "Now it's like he's losing his mind". You see, Dave sent the TBS personality a horse - yes, a real, live one - and Conan's having a tough time with the upkeep. Letterman was his usual rascally self, at turns self-deprecating ("I'll tell you something, you're looking at a man who is laughing on the outside, crying on the inside"), lacerating ("I have nothing but the highest regard for all the talk show men and women, even Jimmy Fallon") and philosophical about how he's changed in the two years since he left Late Show. When word of his new venture first broke, Letterman said he'd like to interview Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump.

Now that he's retired, he said he feels like a different person.

"Paul, you didn't tell me you work here now", Letterman yelled over to Shaffer upon sitting down at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. "The great struggle in life is to be better each and every day". Is there anything we can do, big or small, to make the life of just one person a little bit better? But the Snatched comedian did discuss her online Twitter trolls with Jimmy Kimmel during the Kimmel-does-Brooklyn stint of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and she realized sometimes the trolling does have a positive effect.

Letterman started his tale by explaining to Kimmel that he is a celebrity, which means that the onus is on him to give extravagant and expressive gifts.

This came as Letterman was talking about the fact that all of the late night hosts were saying nice things about him when he retired and that he sent them gifts.
