One terrorist was killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Similarly, in Kulgam, as the security forces cordoned off Nowbug village in Qazigund area following information about the presence of the terrorists, the area was cordoned off.
As the security forces started the operation, they encountered counter-attack from the militants.
A militant was also killed in the operation, the sources said.
