If another 200,000 are pushed out it would virtually fulfil Myanmar's long-term goal to depopulate the Rakhine State of the Rohingya minority group.

Amnesty International accused Myanmar of sweeping "serious violations" against the Rohingya under the carpet.

"I think that Myanmar might promise to work with the global community, and it is likely that the worldwide community will also work with Myanmar on resolving this problem", he said. "Actually, the problem in Rakhine is just like fighting between two groups where some people have killed others".

This violence has displaced almost a million Rohingya civilians from their homes, almost 700,000 of whom have left Myanmar altogether to seek refuge in Bangladesh.

Demands have been growing in the United States for Washington to impose economic and travel sanctions against the military and entities under its control over the Rohingya crisis.

Washington, D.C. -based Refugees International called on Tillerson on Tuesday to recognize the Rohingya crisis as ethnic cleansing, a term that the US government has so far refused to use.

The results of an internal military investigation published on Monday absolved the Myanmar army of all wrongdoing during the Rohingya crisis.

On Tuesday in Naypyitaw, the capital, Myanmar authorities began the first of five days of talks with Bangladesh border guard officials to discuss how to resolve the refugee crisis and other issues along their common frontier.

"The agency is also concerned about forced and early marriages taking place among the Rohingya refugee population".

As people fleeing violence in Myanmar relate the horrors of escaping military violence, Myanmar army released a report late night Monday in which it concluded there were "no deaths of innocent people".
