When a television news reporter asked him about the CPM-CPI conflict in the backdrop of Transport Minister Thomas Chandy " s resignation, the chief minister at first did not say anything and then admonished the reporter by saying, "move aside' in Malayalam when the microphone was reached out to him.
CPI (M) mouthpiece "Deshabhimani", in its editorial on Friday, slammed the CPI - the second largest constituent of the ruling LDF coalition - over the latter's ministers boycotting Wednesday's cabinet meet in protest against Thomas Chandy's participation in the meeting. The resignation letter was handed over to the chief minister by NCP state President, T P Peethambaran Master, after consulting the matter with party's national leadership. "Our ministers made a decision to boycott the cabinet when Chandy claimed after holding talks with the CM in the morning that he would attend the cabinet meeting", Babu said. He should also clarify whether it was part of the Cabinet's collective responsibility to convene a parallel Cabinet meeting when the Chief Minister had already convened the Cabinet meeting.
"The chief minister said we are not asking you to resign, but take a decision after consulting with your leadership", Chandy said.
"The action has only helped people on the rival side to rejoice on the development", CPI (M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters here. At the time, Vijayan had even gone to the extent of calling a section of the media in the state capital as a syndicate.

That being the case, Sridhar said slip catching is more hard in the sub-continent. In the sub-continent that is a challenge often because of two-paced wickets.
However, the CPI (M) said the CPI leadership should think whether such a stance (skipping Cabinet meet) had to be initiated in a coalition set up.
The resignation comes a day after the Kerala High Court dismissed Chandy's petition challenging a report of the Alappuzha district collector on alleged encroachments by a company in which he has a stake.
Opposition Congress-led UDF and BJP had been on a warpath since the past one month demanding Chandy's resignation over the encroachment allegations. The court had said the government has lost its confidence on the minister.
