The NFL has launched an investigation into a woman's allegation that Jameis Winston groped an Uber driver in 2016, according to Talal Ansari of BuzzFeed. The passenger, now identified as Winston, is banned from Uber for his behavior. I believe the driver was confused as to the number of passengers in the auto and who was sitting next to her. Winston was the only passenger in the auto.
The incident happened at a drive-thru Mexican restaurant after Winston reportedly asked to stop for food.
The woman further alleges Winston "reached over and he just grabbed my crotch", and held his hand there a few seconds, only removing it after she "looked up in shock and said, 'What's up with that?'"
"While I am certain that I did not make any inappropriate contact, I don't want to engage in a battle with the driver and I regret if my demeanor or presence made her uncomfortable in any way", Winston wrote.
"We categorically deny this allegation", Spielman said.
"I wasn't just creeped out", said Kate, who had been driving with Uber for more than two years at that point. "The story falsely accuses me of making inappropriate contact with this driver". They then placed him in the front seat of the auto, even though he was the only passenger.
The men allegedly placed Winston in the passenger seat and he is said to have been her only passenger.
United Kingdom to repay 400 million pound debt to Iran
A British government official, who asked not to be named, said on Friday it was "speculation" that the money would be paid. The deal was made with the then Shah of Iran and would have seen 1,750 tanks and other vehicles sold to Iran.
While at Florida State, Winston drew criticism for shouting a phrase on campus that aligns with the allegations of the Uber driver. It is our understanding the uber driver was unable to identify the specific individual who allegedly touched this driver...
Uber's community guidelines prohibit any kind of sexual conduct, consensual or otherwise. "He is NOT safe for other drivers".
The driver, who said she was "frozen" in fear, filed a complaint with Uber, but not with law-enforcement authorities. In his own statement, Winston appears to suggest he does not agree with the driver's claim that he was the only passenger.
In December 2016, Winston settled a lawsuit with Erica Kinsman, who alleged that Winston raped her when they were students at Florida State University in 2012.
As seen in the Ezekiel Elliott case, the National Football League has the authority through its collectively bargained agreement with the NFLPA to conduct investigations separate of criminal investigations and to mete out punishment.
This isn't the first time allegations of sexual assault have been against Winston. He settled a civil lawsuit a year ago against a woman who accusd him of rape while they were both students at Florida State University. Winston also denied that allegation.
Lisa Friel, the NFL's special counsel, alerted the driver that an investigation would be started by the league.
