Dimitrov followed by Federer in the semifinal of the Final tournament

ATP FINALS- Goffin to meet Dimitrov for an unprecedented season decider

ATP Finals 2017 prize money: How much money do you make for winning the season-ending tournament?

I took care of all of the balls that I had to.

Grigor Dimitrov claimed the biggest title of his career with victory in the ATP Finals in London, sending out a huge statement of intent with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 triumph over David Goffin.

"I have lost quite a few close matches in the past year and I think I am already over that hurdle now". The American played a creative tennis, Dimitrov was more and more tense, and on 4-all the Bulgarian was broken again. "And right now those are the moments that I rise up to".

But Goffin was buoyed by wins over world number one Rafael Nadal and and a gutsy effort against second seed Roger Federer, coming back from a set down to beat the Swiss in the semi-finals.

Dimitrov won in 2 hours, 30 minutes, 15 seconds, adding 11 minutes to the mark set by Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in 2011.

But in a huge turnaround of furtunes, Dimitrov responded in unerring fashion with a ideal 6-0 scoreline in 22 minutes to set up a deciding set shoot-out.

"One person who played an important part is my girfriend Nicole. I know what I have to do in order to do good".

The adrenaline was pumping from both players with the rallies more and more intense - including a brutal 21-shot rally in the fifth game which floored Sock. Goffin's aggressive approach appeared to pay off early on, as he broke Dimitrov's serve, but in the long run it also produced a number of unforced errors, including the sliced backhand at the net to hand the title to his opponent.

The Congress president said Indira Gandhi took pride in Indias rich diversity and its democratic and secular values. A panel of jury, headed by former President Pranab Mukherjee , made the decision on the same.

However, Dimitrov fought his way back.

He hit 17 unforced errors in the first set, majority since the second half of the set. The momentum back with him, Goffin broke the following game for a 4-3 lead and calmly closed out the set.

Yet Goffin, beaten in all six prior meetings with Federer, turned the tables to win 2-6 6-3 6-4 and become only the sixth player to beat Nadal and Federer in the same tournament.

"We need some days off to rest and I will be ready next weekend", said Goffin. "I proved to myself that I can do it".

Dimitrov moved ahead when he converted a fifth set point in the twelfth game.

Goffin was left serving for survival at 5-3 down and clawed his way back from 40-0 down to stay alive in an enthralling encounter, but a exhausted backhand into the net gifted Dimitrov the title in the next game. "It was just a tough, tough match against Grigor, who played really well", Goffin said.

Dimitrov becomes the first debutant to win the ATP Finals in nearly 20 years. "She's somewhere hiding", said Dimitrov.
