Trump's Friday: Foreign calls, golf with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson

A JUNE 27 2012 FILE

President Trump has largely avoided mentioning his trips to the golf course since taking office

Donald Trump says he will play golf with Tiger Woods "quickly" before getting back to work.

He also promised what he said would be a "quick" golf game with pro player Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson.

"Then back to Mar-a-Lago for talks on bringing even more jobs and companies back to the US!", he added.

The president said after the round he's going to focus on "bringing even more jobs to the USA".

In a break from custom, the Trump White House rarely discloses when the president is golfing, let alone whom he golfs with during frequent trips to courses he owns in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia.

Suspected militants attack mosque in Egypt; casualties feared
No groups has yet claimed responsibility for the attack - but the region is rocked by extremist Islamist groups. Initial reports indicate the attackers used explosives followed by gunfire in the attack on the mosque.

Trump announced on Twitter on Friday morning that he would be speaking with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about regional stability in the Middle East to a "mess" that he inherited. In January, Woods played with the then-president-elect and said, according to CBS Sports: "What most impressed me was how far he hits the ball at 70 years old".

Dustin Johnson of the United States plays his second shot on the 11th hole during the final round of the WGC-HSBC Champions at Sheshan International Golf Club on October 29, 2017 in Shanghai, China. Trump's approval rating is worse than former Presidents Nixon, Gerald Ford, Lyndon B. Johnson, Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Harry S. Truman, George H.W. Bush, Lyndon B. Johnson, John F. Kennedy, and George W. Bush.

Woods is scheduled to make his return to competitive golf next week when he serves as the host of the Hero World Challenge, a PGA Tour limited-field event in the Bahamas.

He also spent part of Thursday playing golf at Mar-a-Lago, where he and his family are spending Thanksgiving, The Hill reported. Most recently in December, but this will be the first time since Trump became President.
