In Dublin, Gardai have warned of major delays after a three-car crash at Templeville Road earlier this evening.
The collision occurred just off the N25 between Cushinstown and Begern Cross on the New Ross to Ballinaboule road.
It is understood the vehicle was travelling in convoy with another auto when the tragedy occurred.
The road has been closed to allow for a Forensic Collision examination, and will remain closed until at least lunchtime.
Residents described the scene as "absolutely horrific" with debris scattered all over the roadside.
However, two others were pronounced dead immediately.
Ireland starts collecting back-tax from Apple
Despite the ruling having been issued more than a year ago, in August of 2016, Ireland has resisted collecting the money. Ireland's low tax deals to large companies has been a key role in the country's economic success.
AA Roadwatch tweeted: "The N25 Waterford/Wexford Rd is closed at Begerin Hill east of New Ross due to a serious collision".
Their remains were taken to University Hospital Waterford for postmortem.
The road is now closed and diversions are in place as gardai examine the scene.
They are investigating if the driver of the vehicle attempted to turn on the road just before the collision with an articulated lorry travelling behind it.
The scene was sealed off to facilitate a full garda investigation into the cause of the tragedy.
