Beyonce Presents Legacy Award to Colin Kaepernick, Thanks Him for His Sacrifice

Beyoncé Presented Colin Kaepernick With the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award

Sports Illustrated renamed the award in 2015 as a tribute to Ali.

Beyonce made a surprise appearance on stage to present him with the Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy Award.

Yonce took the stage gracefully in a black and grey vertical striped, sequined dress, paired with a half-up-half-down kinky, side ponytail.

Brought out by presenter Trevor Noah (host of The Daily Show), Beyonce said she was "proud and humbled" to present the award to Kaepernick, who she said " took action with no fear of effect or repercussion, only hope to change the world for the better".

During his acceptance speech, Kaepernick vowed to continue to support social justice causes even if he is no longer in the NFL.

The blaze was reported about 9:30 the 25000 block of Rye Canyon Loop, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. West Creek Academy is closed for the remainder of the day and Trinity Classical Academy in Valencia is now evacuating students.

After accepting the award from Beyonce, Kaepernick said he was humbled to follow in the footsteps of a man whose legacy, he says, paved the way for his protest.

"I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people".

"I am using my platform to protest systematic oppression, racial injustice, and the dire consequences of anti-blackness in America". One of those critics has been the President of the United States. "Colin took action with no fear of outcome or repercussion", Beyoncé said, "only hope to change the world for the better, to change perception, to change the way we treat each other, especially people of color". "To change perception, to change the way we treat each other, especially people of color". SI announced Kaepernick would be the recipient of the award last week. Multiple long-term injuries to quarterbacks have resulted in a number of quarterbacks with less impressive NFL resumes than Kaepernick's being signed, and there is some belief that he remains unsigned because of his social activism on and off the football field. "With or without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people", he said.

"[His] only hope [was] to change the world for the better". Be sure to ch-ch-check out Colin's FULL speech when the ceremony is televised on Friday night at 8 p.m. on the NBC Sports Network.
