Deputies were actively sweeping the school grounds, but said there was no indication the suspects were on campus.

The conditions of the wounded students were not immediately known.

Two students have reportedly been shot at a USA high school.

One of the shooting victims ran into the school after he was shot, Troyer said, and made it into the locker room bathroom.

Doug Boyles, a spokesperson from the Bethel School District, confirmed that two victims are Graham-Kapowsin High School students, but didn't have more information. Three other schools were locked down during the investigation, including Frontier Middle School, Nelson Elementary School and Graham Elementary School. They are being treated at the Tacoma General Hospital, Tacoma, Washington.

Troyer said authorities were not able to speak with the victims before they were transported to the hospital, but that they have a good idea of the events leading up to the shooting and a possible motive.

Troyer told Seattle Times the students who were present at school remained with the deputies until the danger cleared.

That's when he got a text from his son, that said: "Hey, dad, I can't leave". "I've heard conflicting reports and we're trying to shore reports up with the police departments right now", he said.

Once the danger was cleared the students were released around 4:30 p.m. local time (7:30 p.m. EST). "That's something we have teams of people working now", Troyer said.

U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Auburn, tweeted the following statement: "My prayers are w/ the families of the victims; the students, teachers, & staff at the school; & the community affected".
