John Mayer was forced to postpone Dead & Company's concerts after he required emergency surgery

Yesterday afternoon, Dead & Company were forced to postpone that night's show in New Orleans due to an emergency appendectomy surgery for John Mayer.

Mayer also shared a tweet on Wednesday thanking fans for their well-wishes. I'm so sorry that we couldn't finish out the last few dates of the tour. Loynes said all tickets for the concerts would be honored and later rescheduled. It remains unclear whether Mayer will be able to play those shows, though the band has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the status of either gig.

Dead and Company issued a statement concerning the health of their frontman John Mayer. The new date will be announced as soon as possible, according to Amway Center officials.
