At present, Season 8 is now filming but in a recent interview with Variety, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) said that they've still got "six or seven months left" of filming.

HBO has not confirmed any air date, and did not immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.

Rumors about the final six episodes being delayed began circulating when Season 7 concluded in August. For comparison, the budget for this year's stellar Wolverine send-off Logan was $97 million, per Box Office Mojo, and season eight of Game of Thrones will cost at least $90 million.

Turner said production on the final season of the series kicked off in October, so there's about six or seven months left, and everyone is aware this is their last go around with the show, E! says.

HBO is bringing "Game of Thrones" to the big screen by screening the most action-packed episode from the seventh season, plus never-before-seen bonus content, in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

" They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule", Bloys said.

Rumours have it that Game of Thrones will not return before 2019. "We're all trying not to take it for granted any more".
