Prince William seemed to be a fan of the same accessory because she also used it at the reception in the previous year. She paired the statement piece with teardrop pearl earrings, a diamond necklace, and her embroidered outfit. It was originally made for Queen Mary in 1914, then passed down to Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana and now the Duchess of Cambridge.

This isn't the duchess' first time wearing the famous Lover's Knot. The buyer was unidentified.

And, it is presumed to be in an unknown private collection.

Kate Middleton was seen sporting the sparkly headpiece as she and her husband, Prince William, arrived at the annual diplomatic reception yesterday evening.
