Russell Simmons denies rape allegations made by three women

And performer Sherri Hines told The Los Angeles Times Simmons raped her around 1983.

On Wednesday afternoon, the New York Times published a report where three individuals accused the music and fashion mogul of rape.

While The New York Times' piece focused more on Simmons' alleged misconduct in his role as a music executive, the Los Angeles Times looked into claims that Simmons abused his power as the head of his West Hollywood yoga studio, Tantris.

Three women - a former Def Jam Recordings employee, a singer and a music journalist - have accused music and business mogul Russell Simmons of raping them, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

Dixon said she rejected his advances, and told Simmons she recently had a gynecological procedure that prevented her from having sex. She detailed how she was 24 at the time had known Simmons socially, but one night he allegedly forced her to come back to his Manhattan apartment, locking her inside his SUV and using his bodyguard to usher her upstairs. She claims Simmons would make sexually graphic phone calls to her, asked her to sit on his lap during work meetings, tried to kiss her in a broom closet, and would regularly expose his erect penis to her. When she was 17 or 18, she ran into Simmons, who she had known from her childhood, at a NY nightclub.

Russell said she resigned her position in February after about nine months because Simmons was too demanding. The Times said the account was confirmed by four people close to her including her ex-husband and therapist.

Sallie, who met Simmons while reporting, went on several dates with the mogul. She described an instance in which Simmons had invited her to his apartment to discuss her career. But she said the visit "got really ugly, pretty fast". She said he pushed her down and said, "Don't fight me".

The women who spoke to the Times, though, tell a different story.

Warren Sapp to address allegations against him in sexual harassment lawsuit
The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles at a California superior court by Jami Cantor who is a former NFL Network wardrobe stylist. Lindsay McCormick was asked if she was going to get knocked up like the others during her NFL Network interview.

Christina Moore says she and a friend were looking for a bar at a hotel in 2014 when they ran into Simmons, who offered to show them the way. She said that Simmons put his hands all over her, pinned her against the wall, and said he wanted to tie her up. I said 'Wait. Wait.' I felt dread.

Simmons is vehemently denying these new allegations and released a statement. "These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core and all of my relations have been consensual", Simmons told the Times.

Accusations about Simmons' misbehavior entered the spotlight last month after model Keri Claussen Khalighi publicly accused the rap mogul of sexually assaulting her and intimidating her into performing oral sex on him when she was 17 years old in 1991. While SIMMONS' attorney said SIMMONS denies HINES' story and pointed to praise for SIMMONS in the book's foreword, HINES said that the foreword mention was "sarcasm".

Sallie didn't report the alleged rape, citing fear of going to the police and worry over her career.

"You have to understand, I was very much in a man's game", Sallie said. In the last few days, one woman attempted to extort me for $500,000 only to recant her ridiculous claim.

Simmons gave a statement to the L.A. Times echoing the one posted on Instagram: "These new stories range from patently untrue to frivolous and hurtful claims. The presumption of innocent until proven guilty must not be replaced by 'Guilty by Accusation'".

"What I will not accept is responsibility for what I have not done", Simmons said in his statement.

I have already apologized for the instances of thoughtlessness in my consensual relations. But I can't leave those women twisting in the wind. I have re-dedicated myself to spiritual learning, healing and working on behalf of the communities to which I have devoted my life.
