Fans will "select match-ups and match stipulations", according to a WWE press release. "Mixed Matched Challenge" will involve male and female Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown brands. Fan interaction is a big piece of it.
That said, the most popular content on Facebook Watch are still attention-thirsty viral videos, so Mixed Match Challenge might not have a lot of competition. The money will be donated to his or her chosen charity. (Uso has more than four million Facebook followers, for example.) Facebook is paying WWE for a dozen 20-minute episodes, but a company spokesperson declined to share financial terms of the deal.
The show is set to kick off on Tuesday, January 16, and it will kick off at 10 p.m.as soon as SmackDown Live ends, which is interesting because that's when 205 Live normally airs on the WWE Network.
Samsung patents phone with a screen that wraps around the back
It's somewhat like the edge-to-edge display spilling beyond the edge on one side, and acting as a secondary display at the back. Moreover, the phone will have touchscreen capabilities on the front and back and system icons can be seen on both sides.
So which WWE stars are taking part in the tournament? Representing Raw's men's division will be Braun Strowman, Enzo Amore, Finn Balor, Goldust, The Miz, and the victor of a fan vote, while their women's division will be represented by Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox, Asuka, Bayley, Nia Jax, and Sasha Banks.
The unique storylines for Mixed Match Challenge will continue between episodes across WWE's Facebook Pages with short-form videos and social content. WWE will also promote the series across its extensive digital and social footprint, including a new Facebook Watch show Page dedicated to Mixed Match Challenge. This could theoretically be solved by having the winners in the second round face each other in a triple threat final, but there is no indication yet what WWE has planned.
