Paul Manafort Will Be Released From House Arrest, Judge Says

Judge Says That Paul Manafort Can Go Free But He Has To Live In Florida And Be Home By 11 PM

Manafort's next court hearing is scheduled for the morning of January 16, 2018.

In court filings Friday, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson requested that Manafort's attorneys submit one more round of financial documents to assure the court that his proposed bail guarantors - his wife and his daughter - could put up the bond being offered.

Once there, the former campaign chief must abide by a curfew, from 11 p.m.to 7 a.m., be subject to Global Positioning System monitoring and report once a week to federal authorities in West Palm Beach, Fla. But Manafort, who was indicted in October on several charges including "conspiracy against the United States", will not be allowed to leave the Sunshine State without permission and be required to abide by a 11 p.m. curfew.

In the wake of Manafort's arrest, his defense team and prosecutors had said they expected to strike a bail deal within 48 hours.

The discussions also faced a complicating development in which Jackson warned Manafort not to violate a court gag order in the case through actions like his ghostwriting of a December 7 Ukrainian op-ed article defending work he had done in the country.

Christie said he was concerned that New Jersey taxpayers would have to shoulder the overruns. After a meeting earlier this week with Sens.

He must also stay away from airports, train and bus stations and report weekly to a federal probation office in West Palm Beach.

In case the forfeited properties do not raise $10 million, Jackson said, Manafort's wife Kathleen and his daughter Andrea Manafort Shand have deposited $7 million into bank accounts to make up the difference.

Friday's legal order said once all these conditions were met, the court would issue a separate order releasing Manafort from his house arrest in Alexandria.

Manafort and Gates have pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Manafort served as campaign adviser to and later campaign chairman for Trump until his resignation three months before Election Day 2016, when his ties to pro-Russian politicians in Ukraine were exposed.
