As of December 19 they had raised just under $300,000 and the goal this year is $500,000. Contributions also allow The Salvation Army to continue operating its life-changing programs, such as substance abuse recovery, housing supports, job and skills training, and budgeting and education classes, which help people find a way out of poverty, permanently. The Kettle campaign runs annually across Canada between Nov.23 and Dec.23.
