With a new product-and-user-oriented business model that focuses primarily on a "Double +" strategy aiming to achieve "Smart + Internet" and "Products + Services", TCL Multimedia is striving to become a "global entertainment technology enterprise" that provides integrated entertainment solutions to customers. The North American market saw sales volumes grow significantly, up 131.5% YoY. These are basically the replacements to the 2017 C-series and S-Series models we mentioned above and though we don't expect the same performance from them as what we're seeing with the 6-series, we hope, and think that they will at least do better than 2017's C-series did at delivering high quality video. "We're working smarter throughout the company and with our partners to make sure people understand that there's a whole new level of home entertainment out there within reach", said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL North America.
The product will arrive sometime in late 2018, TCL says. It also includes a new iPQ Engine and a versatile HDR Pro Gamma control.
As for the 5 Series, it will be replacing the S series of televisions which the company now has.

Last week, streaming media company Roku announced its plans to enter the voice-controlled device market through a new program that would allow other manufacturers to integrate with Roku's voice platform in their own smart speakers, soundbars, surround sound systems and more. The set supports Dolby Vision.
TCL has also announced the 5 Series and the company has said that this series marries superior 4K UHD picture quality with Dolby Vision HDR for a stellar imaging experience.
The 5-Series will be available this spring with sizes ranging from 43- to 65-inches.
"Chief among the announcements is the TCL Roku 6-Series TVs, which offer 4K resolution and HDR, as well as Contrast Control Zone Technology, which includes 96 zones on the smaller 55" model and 120 zones on the larger 65" model. Likewise, the device will incorporate the Roku Entertainment Assistant to enable voice control support.
TCL demos at CES Central Hall booth #12929, it was disclosed at the pre-show briefing, will include run-throughs of the Voice Assistant features; a Quantum Dot on Glass technology announcement that Dew said would be "a way to bring Quantum Dot technology to more mainstream prices" was also planned for CES revelation. The new smart soundbar is expected to launch in late 2018.
