When the Seahawks failed to make the playoffs for the first time since Russell Wilson became the quarterback, general manager John Schneider decided to make a change.

There was the historic stretch late in the 2012 season when Seattle averaged 50 points over three games, becoming just the third National Football League team ever to score 50 points in back-to-back games.

Much of Seattle's offensive success this season was due to quarterback Russell Wilson, who threw for 3,983 yards and an NFL-leading 34 touchdowns. The Seahawks appear to be cleaning house after missing the playoffs.

The changes to the Seahawks coaching staff keep on coming.

The Seahawks have not confirmed the firing of Bevell, who became OC in 2011 succeeding Jeremy Bates, who served in that position in 2010, head coach Pete Carroll's first year in Seattle.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Seattle's offense had one of its most productive seasons the following year.

With a chance to secure a historic win over the New England Patriots, he called for an ill-fated screen pass by quarterback Russell Wilson that was intercepted in the end zone by Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler to seal the win for New England.

The Libyan Coast Guard noted that eight of those that drowned are from Bangladesh, including a woman, and two from Pakistan. Some 21,663 migrants arrived in Spain as of December 28 past year , while 1,067 landed in Cyprus, preliminary figures show.

Top wide receiver Doug Baldwin shoved Cable out of the way during what Baldwin wanted to be a players-led talk on the sidelines while the offense was struggling again early in an eventual October win at the New York Giants.

Indeed, Carroll hinted last week there would be changes to his staff.

Cable does have head-coaching experience, albeit marginal.

"There's guys up for jobs now".

Here are some coaches I think might be calling the plays for the Seahawks next season. They have families and lives and careers and dreams and hopes as we all do, and we'll see what happens. And we'll see what happens.

"We've had challenges", Bevell said.
