Though drafted in 2014, Joel Embiid feels like a rookie addition thanks to the injury ravaged time he's endured until late last season. That is, the Sixers build a big lead in the first quarter or two, then start turning the ball over at an alarming rate, blow a double-digit lead and either lose the game or keep it close. It will be the 14th regular season game played outside North America, and Simmons has acknowledged the unique opportunity he has to play at such a rare location. The Celtics should have a comfortable schedule the rest of the way and having extra rest lead to that slow start is something they can never make a habit of. The center endured similar difficulties this time around - he was six-of-17 for 15 points at the O2 Arena. Suddenly Boston looked like themselves again, and while the Sixers are lauded for their wealth of young talent, it was largely 21-year-old Brown and 19-year-old Jayson Tatum who dragged them back into the game. In the previous six games Rozier scored at least 13 points.
But Ben Simmons seemed ready to move on.
The Celtics were good enough once they figured things out against the 76ers that they really did not have to worry too much in the end, and did not need a miracle in the clutch.
Tatum gave meat to a 19-4 run with his last two jumpers, with the Celtics taking their first lead of the night (69-68) on a Daniel Theis dunk, and capping off the run for a 74-68 lead with a Morris 15-footer. The second-year wingman nailed a three of his own from the corner and headed back down the court, blowing a kiss towards the Philly bench as he did so.
The Boston Celtics defense is the key to their success. Bogdan Bogdanovic topped Sacramento with 22 points. He's won three championships and four Most Valuable Player awards and could add to both of those totals this year.
Sam's Club in Orange to close
According to the statement, as many as 200 full-time and part-time employees were laid off from the closure in Linden alone. Still, she said city staff "did kind of wonder" when Sam's Club didn't renew its tobacco license this month.
In the second half, quite the turnaround unfolded. Rudy Gay, Tony Parker and Danny Green are all unavailable as well, and yet San Antonio can plan for the postseason thanks to the second best defence in the league and LaMarcus Aldridge stepping up to lead the team.
Over the course of what to-date has been an impressive campaign, the Celtics' victories have come in all different shapes and sizes. Boston has allowed just 85.7 points per game over its last three games, solidifying its position as the best defensive team in the National Basketball Association allowing a league-low 97.6 points per game.
Between the Sixers and the Celtics, 10 players involved in Thursday's affair claimed worldwide affiliation.
Throughout Thursday evening, chants of "Trust the Process" and "Let's Go Celtics" blended into one loud chorus.
