Altered Carbon | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix

Consciousness can be digitized, human bodies are interchangeable and death is no longer permanent... However, Bancroft believes he was murdered and hires former soldier Takeshi Kovacs (played by Will Yun Lee and Joel Kinnaman as his new body) to investigate what really happened to him.

The world (set 300 years into the future) is one in which people with enough money can download and pass their consciousness from body to body, which are known as "sleeves".

According to show creators, his mind was imprisoned on ice for centuries until the incredibly wealthy Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) offers Kovacs the chance to live again. Takeshi is brought back by Bancroft for the sole objective of uncovering his murder, but it looks like he will be dragged into something deeper and much more complicated. This is the first full length trailer Netflix has released for its hotly anticipated show.

Who is in the cast of Altered Carbon?

Altered Carbon hits Netflix February 2, 2018.

New Renderings of Chicago's Obama Library Released
The Obama Center as now planned will not provide the promised development or economic benefits to the neighborhoods. On the current plans the intrusion into the park is huge: twenty-one acres, the size of two large city blocks.

Kovacs didn't come back of his own accord though; he was brought back by bajillionaire Laurens Bancroft, who is also now living in a new sleeve, and wants Kovacs to find who killed his previous body.

Renee Elise Goodman, from The Good Wife, and Dichen Lachman, from US Shameless, also feature alongside Mexican actress Martha Higareda.

Netflix has debuted a new trailer and four pieces of key art for Altered Carbon, their upcoming 10-episode TV adaptation of Richard Morgan's 2002 cyberpunk novel.

While a couple short teasers have given this series a sense of intrigue, the full-length trailer that has now be released into the world helps add a heft to the narrative and heighten the hype around this forthcoming program.

The opening lines of the trailer declare: "Your body is not who you are".
