By contrast, 49 percent of voters believe former President Barack Obama was more responsible than Trump for America's current economic conditions; only 40 percent said Trump deserved more credit.

The divide was starkest along racial lines: Just 37 percent of white respondents said Congress should begin impeachment proceedings, while 65 percent of African-Americans said they should. The majority of people give Trump a poor grade for his first year in office.
