According to ESPN, the Raiders are considering offering Gruden an ownership stake in the team to re-take the job he held from 1998-2001 after they fired Jack Del Rio. That record, coupled with the major step back Oakland took this year, may end up costing coach Jack Del Rio his job.

He has been out of coaching since 2009, when he was sacked after seven seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including a Super Bowl title in 2002.
"Jon Gruden is the going to be the next coach of the Raiders", ESPN's Adam Schefter said on SportsCenter Sunday night.
Jon Gruden is nearly certainly going to be the next coach of the Oakland Raiders. I take a lot every year from coaches, some others. "Zero. That's a nice segment that I saw, but no ownership, that's for sure".

There were reports that Davis had offered him an ownership stake, which would complicate the hiring process because of the precedent it would set for National Football League owners, who would have to vet and approve that process.
But Del Rio's decision to fire coordinator Bill Musgrave after last season despite a dynamic offense and replace him with quarterbacks coach Todd Downing backfired. Following the Super Bowl run of his first season in charge, the Bucs never won another playoff game under Gruden.
Gruden and Reid worked together on Mike Holmgren's staff before each eventually ascended to head coaching positions. "We were getting ready for what's next".
