Bungie to relax microtransactions for Destiny 2

Bungie Doubles Down on its Plans to Fix What's Wrong with Destiny 2

Bungie says it's scaling back Eververse in Destiny 2 content roadmap

In Bungie's most recent blog post, Game Director Christopher Barrett began the Destiny 2 development update by noting that the developer is "not just listening", but doing. To try and remedy the issue, Bungie plans to start including in-game items that have thus far been restricted to Eververse - items like ships, sparrows, and ghosts - as rewards for playing activities in the game.

We recognize that the scales are tipped too far towards Tess at the moment, and Eververse was never meant to be a substitute for end game content and rewards.

Items such as Ghosts, ships and sparrows, as well as emotes, colour shaders and weapon ornaments are available through Eververse. Additionally, there will be more ways to earn Bright Engrams and their rewards without resorting to paying for them.

In it, players will now have two different ranks in the Crucible, the option to host a private match with friends, new modes, seasonal vendor rewards, additional Vault space, PC clan chat, and more.

Masterwork Armor will also roll out at the end of the month, further expanding the game's loot pool, as part of a massive patch slated for January 30. The Raid vendor will also directly sell Leviathan and Eater of Worlds armor and weapons for purchase with Raid tokens and Legendary Shards.

In February, a scoring system similar to that in the original Destiny will be implemented for Nightfall strikes, the weapon and armour mod is getting a "full rework", text chat will be added to the Tower in Destiny 2 on PC and the rate at which duplicate exotic items drop will be lowered. So planned to introduce there major changes in the upcoming seasons. We've only scratched the surface of what's in store. In a post on their website, Bungie highlighted some of the major tweaks coming to the game.

Bungie Doubles Down on its Plans to Fix What's Wrong with Destiny 2

Bungie needs to win back a lot of the Destiny 2 community, and they are hoping that this massive, well-detailed update is the first step in establishing a more transparent and stable relationship with the players, who want to feel heard and respected.

We agree with your feedback on the imbalance between Achievement and Bright Engram rewards, and we will be making adjustments to shift more rewards into specific endgame pursuits instead of generic XP grinding for Bright Engrams.

Strike Scoring is coming to the hard Nightfall Strike and replacing the current time limit mechanic.

Bungie has been facing a ton of criticism over Destiny 2. This will focus on reducing redundant mods, more unique theming, and greatly increasing their impact on your Power Level. Bungie warn the scope of the rework "could push parts or all of it out to early spring". Bright Engrams are Destiny 2's version of loot crates which can be purchased with real money.

New modifiers will be introduced to add more gameplay variety to the experience.

Players will also finally be able to equip multiple emotes, as well.
