This all but confirms that there will be at least one, but likely more, surprise entrant in the women's Royal Rumble match. However, one of the most intriguing aspects of the women's match has been who exactly will appear in the bout. PWInsider is reporting that Molly Holly will be participating in the match. She returned for a one-night appearance in the Miss WrestleMania battle royal at WrestleMania XXV.
Molly Holly will be part of the 30-woman match in less than two weeks time as the 31 annual Royal Rumble match takes place on January 28th live from Philadephia, Pennsylvania. The other name contacted, but not confirmed, is Michelle McCool. She hasn't wrestled for the company since she lost a "Loser Leaves WWE" match against Layla at Extreme Rules in 2011.
So far, alongside the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches, WWE has matches on the Rumble card for the Universal Championship, WWE Championship, Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championship, and the finals of the United States Championship tournament. The former has seemingly agreed to work the match, but McCool is still negotiating, and there's no indication of how said discussions are going. She was Hardcore Champion for a split second at WrestleMania X8, and later held the Women's Title for 301 days across two separate reigns before retiring in 2005.
Could Oprah Winfrey Dethrone President Trump in 2020?
I also know that after years of watching The Oprah Winfrey Show , you always have the right to change your mind. Known to millions by her first name, Winfrey, 63, has been a cultural force in the country for decades.
Both Holly and McCool have appeared on WWE television since their wrestling departures, notably on the WWE Network's Table For Three program. McCool has also hinted on Twitter that she might be up for a return to the squared circle.
The show is already starting to look like one of the best Royal Rumble events in history and it seems that it can only get better as more names are announced.
