49ers' linebacker Reuben Foster blossomed into one of the NFL's best young defensive players during his rookie season with San Francisco, but another off-the-field concern popped up for Foster as he was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.
He was released from jail on a $2,500 bond. The charge is a misdemeanor in Alabama. It was also reported he failed a drug test at the Combine, but another report stated his urine sample was dilute - which automatically counts as a positive test.
The very talented Foster slipped to the 31st pick in the 2017 draft in part because of off-field concerns including submitting a diluted urine sample for a drug test at the Scouting Combine, which in the National Football League is considered the same as a positive test. He ultimately dropped from being a potential top-10 to top-20 draft pick to being selected by the 49ers at No. 31. Foster had his draft party sponsored by a vaporizer company.

He played in 10 games for San Francisco in 2017, recording 72 tackles.
